On Tuesday 12th June 2018 KMA NEC made oral submissions of this memorandum on the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Amendments) (No. 2) Bill, 2018, to the Parliamentary Committee on Health at Parliament. Making the submissions were the President Dr Jackie Kitulu, the Vicepresident Dr. Lukoye Atwoli, The Secretary General Dr. Simon Kigondu and the Assistant Secretary General Dr. Joy Mugambi.
The composition of the board of the NHIF MUST have representation from the stakeholders, including the Kenya Medical Association, other professional associations representing service providers and the unions. In the case of KMA our procedures required that the President of the Association represents KMA on the NHIF Board. This should be reflected in the Act.
