To safeguard, protect and uphold human rights through education, training and empowerment in liaison with state and non-state institutions.

Convener
Dr. Marie-Claire Wangari
is a medical doctor, global health advocate, and health systems leader with over a decade of experience in policy advocacy and stakeholder engagement. Within the Kenya Medical Association (KMA), she serves as the Co-Convener of the Human Rights Committee and has previously led both the Young Doctors Network and the Reproductive Health Committee. Dr. Wangari has successfully spearheaded advocacy initiatives, secured funding for youth-led health programs, and contributed to key national policy developments, focusing her work on health equity, human rights, and meaningful youth engagement in governance.
KMA Human Rights Committee Art Exhibition 2026
The Kenya Medical Association (KMA) Human Rights Committee invites artists, healthcare professionals, students, and creatives to submit original artwork for our upcoming KMA Human Rights Social Media Campaign and Exhibition 2026 : If my health had a voice.
This social media campaign & exhibition aims to use art as a powerful tool to spark dialogue, inspire action, and amplify stories around human rights, health equity, dignity, justice, and the lived experiences of individuals and communities. We welcome submissions in a variety of mediums, including paintings, drawings, photography, digital art, mixed media, sculpture ,articles , think pieces , poetry, and other creative expressions.
Deadline of Art submission is : 21st August 2026. Some of The art will be disseminated across all Kenya Medical Association social media pages from 21st August - 28th August 2026 followed by a Physical Exhibition Event in Nairobi, on Saturday 29th August 2026 where all creatives , KMA Members and other Human Rights activists will convene. Additional details on the physical event will be shared in due course.
